CONNECTIONS

the classroom + the professional community

In our program, we take advantage of our strong professional community connections to enhance and expand what we do in the classroom. Through field trips, guest speakers, workshops,  professionals that review students class projects, and internships, our students get the additional benefit of insights and understandings from design and other professionals.

We apologize if we inadvertently left off a name of one of our many community partners.

INTERNSHIPS

2019-2020

The majority of our students participate in design internships, providing valuable real-world experience before graduation. Almost all of the internships are paid — a welcome supplement to a student’s income that helps with their undergraduate expenses. Many students have multiple internship experiences; the average number of semesters in an internship is currently more than five. During the 2019-20 academic year, design students worked as interns at:

  • Access Ventures

  • BCH (Bandy, Carroll & Hellige)
